History

Founding of  ZIM GmbH as an engineering service partner

   Top-notch engineering team with extensive experience in aircraft design and lightweight structures

2007

       
Start of development of aircraft seating

2008

  Founding of the subsidiary company  ZIM FLUGSITZ GmbH

     May: Validation of the newly developed seats by component and development tests


     September:  Unveiling of the new ECO-01 seats at the
     Aircraft Interiors Exhibition in Long Beach (California, USA)  -  Product was well-received

2009

  February: Groundbreaking Ceremony of ZIM FLUGSITZ's new assembly facility


     March: Showcasing of the new ECO-01 Seats at the Aircraft Interiors Exhibition in Hamburg, Germany


     June: Successful certification of ECO-01 seats according to ETSO-C127a Test Standards
       The first order of 3.500 ZIM FLUGSITZ  ECO-01 seats was placed by an international airline


     November: The production of the ECO-01 seats began successfully
 

     December: The delivery of the ECO-01 seats for our launch customer began.
     The seats were to be installed on A300, A310 and B747 aircrafts.

2010

  June: THAI Airways selected ZIM FLUGSITZ as the seat supplier for its Airbus 330 and
Boeing 747 aircrafts. 

       November: The significant increase of PAX production made it indispensable to set up a high efficient
     continuous flow production. At the time the assembling crew produces on three production lines.

2011

  February: Delivery of the first shipset for THAI Airways (B747-400).
       ZIM FLUGSITZ received important follow-up orders from THAI Airways and orders from other well-known 
     airlines, e.g. airberlin, Air Transat, Mahan Air, Luxair,  Blue 1, Japan Airlines.
     Meanwhile ZIM has become an established supplier of aircraft seats for major airlines.
 
       Development of Business Class Seat BC-01 for Air Transat, Canada. This means a great challenge  
     for ZIM regarding engineering and delivery date. Completely within a very short time, 8 months lie
     between ordering and delivery-based, this project is being processed.
     The BC-01 will be delivered to the launch customer in the first quarter 2012.

       September: Parallel production of economy class seats for 4 different airlines.
